I grew up working next to my dad on painting and handyman jobs. We also did most of the repairs around our own house, not because we wanted the practice but because hiring someone was not something my parents could afford. Looking back, it taught me how to work with my hands, how to figure something out when nobody is coming to figure it out for you, and how to take pride in work with my name on it. It also taught me what it is like to live in a house while it is being worked on, with the noise and the rooms you cannot use yet.
By the time I show up, the plan is set and the decisions are made. My job is to deliver it, on the dates we gave you and to the standard we agreed on. You get one number to call, and it is mine. If something turns up behind a wall, you hear it from me first, with photos, before anything moves. If you are worried about something, tell me early. I would rather hear it on day two than at the final walkthrough, and I will tell you plainly how we are going to handle it. I have worked alongside people from every kind of background, and I try to give all of them the same thing: respect, and a straight answer.

A schedule you can plan around
You get the week ahead in writing. If a date is going to move, you hear it from me before it moves, along with what I am doing about it.
Checked before it gets covered
I look at the work at every stage, while it is still reachable. Nothing gets closed up, tiled over, or painted until it is right.
Your concerns get a real answer
Tell me what is worrying you and I will tell you how we are handling it, who is doing the work, and when it will be done.
